Lakeside Wheelers Cycling Club
1. Definition
An Associate Member is a person who is a current member of Cycling Ireland through another primary club, who has at some point previously been a member of Lakeside Wheelers Cycling Club , and who wishes to participate in the activities of Lakeside Wheelers without transferring their primary membership.
2. Eligibility
Applicants must hold a valid Cycling Ireland license with another CI-affiliated club as their primary club.
Applicants must provide their Cycling Ireland license number and proof of previous connection to our club.
3. Rights and Benefits
Associate Members may participate in club training spins, MIL events and social activities – subject to the associate member holding the appropriate membership category with Cycling Ireland.
Associate Members may be included in club communications (e.g., mailing lists, WhatsApp groups).
Associate Members may purchase and wear club kit, subject to availability and club policy.
4. Restrictions
Associate Members shall have no voting rights at General Meetings.
Associate Members are not eligible to hold committee or officer positions.
Associate Members shall not be counted towards the minimum membership required for Cycling Ireland recognition.
5. Fees
The Associate Membership fee shall be determined by the Committee and approved at the AGM.
This fee is payable directly to the club and is valid until the last day of December of the year in which it is granted. Current fees are shown in item 8 below.
6. Insurance and Compliance
Associate Members’ insurance cover is provided through their Cycling Ireland license.
Lakeside Wheelers Cycling Club requires all Associate Members to hold a valid CI license.
The Committee reserves the right to withdraw Associate Membership if any of these conditions are not met and/or for breaches of Club or CI rules and policies.
7. Administration
Applications for Associate Membership are reviewed and approved by the club committee. There is no automatic renewal of Associate Membership. A new application is required for any calendar year and should be applied for- only on this webpage.
Associate Membership list will be maintained separately for the Club AGM and for CI reporting purposes.
Associate Membership will automatically expire on the last day of the calendar year for which it is granted.
The decision of the committee will be final.

Current application fee for Club Associate membership is 40.00 euros plus handling fee of 2.50. The committee will review each application and advise their decision. If Associate membership is not approved - your fee excluding the handling fee will be returned to you.
